Wow.

  • Mood: Bleah
  • Music: Be Careful~Patty Griffin
  • Quote of the Day: "Sometimes we have to kill our darlings"~one of my teachers
It's been a REALLY long time since I last posted.  But no news is good news in my case.  I'm fine.  I'm pretty happy.  My family killed herself on valentines day but I'm slowly feeling better.  School is good.  A lot of people really like my writing, which makes me ecstatic.  I don't like any academics, but I still get good grades so it's not a big deal.  I really am doing well.  Still obsessed with movies and tv shows.  I saw David Sedaris in october which was AWESOME.  I've done two readings.  I would get really nervous and start shaking before I would go up, but then I'd actually do it and it goes well.  I'm just.....  good.  My older sister is away at college.  My older brother is about to graduate college.  My dad got a chap book published.  Things are good.

  • Mood: Fine
  • Music: The TV
  • Quote of the Day: "Will somebody please remove these cutleries from my knees!"~Flight of the Conchords
It's weird that I used to think about what I'd post all day a year ago.  Now I don't have time or patience to write everything down.  It's really weird.  School is okay.  My department is a little boring.  But it's really cool.  All lot of nice people.  I'm reading the life and times of the thunderbolt kid.  I love memoirs and it's really interesting.

I'm addicted to Ok Go's Here It Goes

Totally and completly addicted. I don't know how many times I've watched it anymore.  I found that the lead singer is from DC which is awesome because, you know, I live in DC.  I have to take pride in stuff like that.  I was hoping that he went to St. Anselm's only because its just down my street but he went to St. Alban's which I've never heard of.  I had heard of them before because they toured with Ira Glass and they do some live shows so I'd heard them then.  I also found out the the singer's sister choreographed it.  I suddenly wish I had a real band just so my bro could choreograph stuff for us. Yeah, my brother's a dancer got something to say about it?  High school so far has been......Scary.  Very scary.  But I know some of the teachers already which is nice and not so awkward/scary/please don't hurt me.  I know some seniors seeing as my sister just graduated but she's from instrumental and I'm in literary so I don't really see them.  Elise, if you're reading this you left the Cd I burned you at our house which is partially my fault I'll admit but yeah.  Current count on today's viewing of Ok go's Music video, 6

  • Mood: Excited/grossed out from thinking of food
  • Music: This American Life: The Cruelty Of Children
  • Quote of the Day: "Banana Hammock"~Zach Braff in Scrubs
My dad is making dinner.  If I was hungry it would smell really good but right now I just can't even think about eating I feel like I'd vomit.  I'm not crazily full I just can't think about it right now.  I went to duke today to register.  It just kind've made me really excited.  I mean before I was excited while being scared but right now I'm really just excited.  I'm importing The Cranberries right now.  While listening to This American Life.  David Sedaris in The Creulty Of Children.  I can never listen to the third act.  Its to sad but the david sedaris story is one of my favorites.  Oh yeah, and I sat in silly putty.  Sigh.  Such is life.

  • Mood: Tired
  • Music: Should've Known Better~Nickel Creek
  • Quote of the Day: "I'm a muss"~Tony Shalhoub as Monk
Peace camp(me being a Junior Counselor), is fun because the kids I'm with are 4 and 5 so they are adorable. I don't really have favorites but there are two girls that are annoying but its peace camp so I have to be nice to everyone. I know a bunch of other counselors, ariel, elly, elanor(its not misspelled thats how she spells her name), hallie, sarah, hans(I don't REALLY know but you know he's on my swim team), and bubba. Thats nice because its not constant awkwardness. The other day I met one of my friends friends, Alex he was nice but I have this fear that I come off as extremely obnoxious and annoying so I'm afriad I made an idiot of myself unknowingly(at the time anyway). I'm going to see my great-cousin on saturday which I'm weirdly excited about because he's really cool. Bleah.

My Love Of Chucks

  • Quote of the Day: Thank God for the model trains, you know? If they didn't have the model trains they wouldn't have gotten the idea for the big trains.~A Mighty Wind
My love of chucks started probably when I was 3 or 4.  My parents bought me and my twin chucks I got light blue.  Then years later my brother started wearing them and I thought they were cool.  More then a year ago I got another pair of chucks, hi tops they cost 40 bucks and were black.  Around january of this year they got a gapinf hole in them them and so began my quest for a new pair.  I found wonderful pinstripe chucks which I still have.  I have now found beautiful pair of tweed slip on chucks and I'm gonna get them with the money I made from summer bridge.
Here's a pic.

My sister

  • Mood: Irritated
  • Music: Due South episode
  • Quote of the Day: "Oh my god I LOVE your shirt!"~Duke Ellington peoples!
Don't get me wrong, I love my older sister but she doesn't really have boundaries.  As my dad put it, "whats yours is mine and what's mine is mine" for instance I used ten dollars of mine to buy myself burts bees stuff she had no problem looking through my bathroom bag and taking it.  I mean really!  Maybe she does have boundaries but I haven't seen them in use. Or they just are not of the norm.

A New Goal

  • Mood: Happy
  • Music: Hey Hey~Todd Snider
  • Quote of the Day: "There's nothing more frustrating than playing hide and seek with a dead wolf"~Paul Gross playing Benton Fraser in Due South
After watching four episodes of 'Due South' I have decided that I am going to somehow become a canadian mountee.  The show follows the mountee Benton Fraser(played by an awesome Paul Gross), who after putting upstanding bussiness men in court is moved to Chicago where he solves crimes with a police officer.  Its great.  Amazing, in fact.

My sister's watched Kill Bill part 1 and 2 without me which makes me hurt but not really.

I believe I got a 3rd in breaststroke yesterday at the last swim meet of the season-there are only five-, but I managed to make up for my good breaststroke by coming in last in backstroke.  Oh yeah, and the pool we swam at (it was an away meet) was three feet on either side so we couldn't dive in we had to start on the wall which was, seriously, a slab cement.  I ask you how your supposed to kick off and hold yourself up on a slab cement.  But its not like my dives are AMAZING anyway.

I have been attacking my head with a brush for ten minutes now and I still can't get a knot out of my hair!  Damn this beautiful long hair of mine! Ha
